Your Specpoint Products Are Getting 'Match Score': A Smarter Way to Get Discovered

In Short:

  • Match Score is replacing MasterSpec badges. Your products now get scored on how well they align with a spec section, not on a badge, and existing badged products auto-convert to 100%.

  • Better product data means broader reach. Stronger match scores can surface your listing across more sections, putting you in front of more architects and engineers.

  • Getting listed is faster now, too. A new AI-powered process builds and validates listings automatically, cutting out manual review queues.

Specpoint, powered by AIA MasterSpec®, is getting two major updates, and they change how specifiers see your products.

First, let’s meet Match Score

Specpoint is evolving to make product discovery more relevant, more transparent, and easier to scale. By moving away from badge-based placement and introducing a new Match Score model, Specpoint is helping specifiers find the right products faster while giving manufacturers a clearer path to reach the right audience.

At the same time, a new AI-powered listing process is making it faster and easier to bring product data into Specpoint. Instead of relying on slow, manual review cycles, manufacturers can now get more of their catalog live sooner using the product data they already have.

Update #1: Improved reach with Match Score

Match Score replaces MasterSpec product badges. For years, badges acted as a signal in the platform, but they did not tell specifiers what they really wanted to know: how well a product actually aligns to the section they are working in.

This created confusion for specifiers and frustration for manufacturers, especially when visibility depended on tiers and manual review instead of product fit.

Match Score changes that.

This new metric shows specifiers how closely your products align with their unique specification requirements as they build out their specs. Instead of emphasizing placement, Specpoint now emphasizes relevance:

  • If your products already carry a MasterSpec Badge, they will automatically convert to a 100% Match Score.

  • If they don't, your existing Specpoint products will still be scored automatically, based on how well your current product properties align with relevant section requirements.

Either way, products now appear based on how well their properties align with a given MasterSpec section; creating a clearer, more meaningful experience for the people actually making specification decisions.

Why this is better for manufacturers

The biggest benefit of Match Score is reach. In the past, visibility was tied to placement. Now, visibility will be tied to relevance and data quality, which means a listing can surface across multiple applicable sections instead of being limited to a single spot.

That gives manufacturers a more direct path to growth in Specpoint, including:

  • More complete product data that can lead to stronger matches.

  • Stronger match scores that can lead to visibility in more sections.

  • Increased visibility that creates more exposure to the architects and engineers actively working inside the specification workflow

In short, you're now building toward relevance, reach, and better engagement with specifiers ... and you can expand that reach further by adding more products to Specpoint.

Update #2: The value of the new AI-powered review process

The second major change is how product data gets into Specpoint.

ConstructConnect is moving from a manual, approval-heavy workflow to an AI-powered process that builds and updates listings automatically from existing product data.

All that means is less waiting, less back-and-forth, and a much faster path to live listings.

This new process is valuable for a few simple reasons:

  • First, it's faster. Listings are created and validated simultaneously, and there is no approval queue holding activation back.

  • Second, it's easier to start. Manufacturers can bring data in through API, CSV, or an AI scrape of their website, reducing friction and making it possible to work with the systems and content they already have.

  • Third, it removes unnecessary blockers. If a manufacturer is not yet in MasterSpec, listings can still go live while that review happens separately in parallel. That's a meaningful change because it shortens time to value and helps customers start gaining exposure sooner.

What these updates mean for the future of Specpoint

Together, both changes reflect a bigger shift in how Specpoint creates value. They are focused on earning reach through better product data and making that reach easier to unlock through a faster, more scalable onboarding process.

For specifiers

For specifiers, that means more relevant products and better decision support.

For manufacturers

For manufacturers, it means a clearer path to visibility, a simpler onboarding experience, and a better opportunity to show up where specification decisions are actually being made.

No matter your role, the goals of these updates are more transparency, more speed, and more opportunity to connect the right products with the right projects.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Will my Match Score be set for me?

Yes, Match Scores will be set automatically for any products already listed in Specpoint. The score will be based on your product data and how well it aligns to all relevant sections.

How does product data actually get into Specpoint now?

ConstructConnect has moved from a manual, approval-heavy review process to an AI-powered one that builds and updates listings automatically from your existing product data. That means less waiting and back-and-forth, and a much faster path to a live listing. You can bring data in through API, CSV, or even an AI scrape of your website; Specpoint will use the data to create and validate listings at the same time (no approval queue needed anymore). If you're not yet in MasterSpec, your listing can still go live while that review happens in parallel.

Can I add more products to Specpoint?

You absolutely can. Expanding your catalog in Specpoint is one of the clearest and easiest ways to increase potential exposure across relevant sections.

Will MasterSpec badges still determine visibility?

Not anymore. Match Score has fully replaced Specpoint's badge tiers with a clearer, data-driven relevance measurement.

How can I improve my visibility on Specpoint?

The two best ways to improve visibility on Specpoint are:

  • Make sure your product data is robust, descriptive, and accurate.

  • Expand the number of products you have in Specpoint.
