Specpoint will be combining MasterSpec's SpecAgent and Product MasterSpec into one unified experience.
Here are the key dates you need to be aware of as we make this transition.
When: Launch Date is September 15, 2021
You will receive your new login credentials on this date.
Who: All Specpoint (formerly MasterSpec) users
Why: To give users access to update your product listing cards and company information.
What: During the migration to Specpoint, your active and completed product listings in SpecAgent will be activated in Specpoint and in a state that will allow you, as an admin, the ability to update your listing information.
The availability to access product information will be open from September 15 through October 31, 2021. After October 31, 2021, access to the product listings will be removed.
To gain access after October 31, 2021, you will need to contact your ConstructConnect account manager. Training videos will be provided on how to update your product listings.
Additional Information: Changes that you submit during this time will be live in Specpoint. Be sure that all information added to your product listings is accurate before saving your changes.
After changes are saved or submitted, information can still be updated until Deltek’s fulfillment team has completed their evaluation of your changes and has set the state of the product listing to be completed.
When: September 2, 2021, by end of day
Who: All SpecAgent users
Why: Specpoint is the new tool for manufacturers to manage their listings and prepare them for architecture and engineers users in Specpoint.
Deltek will be migrating data from SpecAgent to Specpoint so listings will be available to all Specpoint architect and engineer users for selection into projects.
Access to Specpoint, where you will manage your listings, will be available on September 15, 2021.
What: SpecAgent is transitioning to Specpoint. Access to SpecAgent will be limited to Analysis and Reporting only. Access to Account Information or Account Management will be discontinued.
Timeline: Access to adding or making changes to your listings in SpecAgent will be restricted from September 3 through September 15, 2021, when Specpoint will become available. If you need to communicate anything during that period, please reach out to your ConstructConnect account manager.
What do you need to do: If you've submitted all of your content, you're all set.
If you're in the process of supplying content to our fulfillment team, continue to provide that content up to the cutoff date of September 2, 2021, by end of day.
By September 3, 2021, all data will begin to migrate to Specpoint. Access to Specpoint will be available on September 15, 2021, at which time you can continue to add product information and images for your company and your products.
During the blackout period, you will be able to log in to SpecAgent but will only have access to the Analysis and Reports.
Most data for the Analysis Reports will continue to be captured without interruption and be accessible in Specpoint.

When: The site ProductMasterSpec.com site will be live until October 31, 2021.
Why: Specpoint is the new home for product specification documents.

Specpoint is an all-in-one cloud-based specification solution and the new home of AIA MasterSpec®, built to connect product manufacturers to design professionals and puts your products in front of more architects, engineers, and specifiers to increase product visibility, set your product apart from the competition, and improve your specification rates.
Specpoint is a cloud-based system providing automatic product updates to architects and engineers to improve your product’s visibility and specification potential. Self-service product listing tools provide quick and easy access to keep product information up to date. Specpoint lets you highlight your product’s characteristics and performance properties to set your products apart from the competition and provide architects and engineers with the information they need to make intelligent product decisions.
For Premium Listings, Premium MasterSpec, and Proprietary Add-On Listings contact your customer service representative to begin the product review/approval process.
Once your product(s) have been vetted/approved for listing and the sales order is complete, you will be provided with your Specpoint login credentials and can begin populating your product’s information to be included in Specpoint.
Specpoint’s self-service tools allow you to maintain your product’s characteristics quickly and easily for representation to architects and engineers.
Yes, you are eligible to list your product in Specpoint even if it does not achieve MasterSpec criteria. For example, one of MasterSpec’s criteria is national product distribution. We realize there are many viable local and regional products that are not available for national distribution that architects and engineers may wish to specify.
Specpoint does not limit who can list their products in Specpoint, as long as, your product is vetted and approved for inclusion as a viable building product.
Yes, you can still be included in Specpoint. You would purchase a Premium Listing ($14,500 annual) and a Proprietary Add-On (one-time fee of $8,000) to have your product listed in Specpoint.
All products considered for inclusion in Specpoint, the new home of AIA MasterSpec, are reviewed and thoroughly vetted by Deltek’s licensed architects and engineers to ensure products meet MasterSpec criteria.
A trial version of Specpoint is not available. ConstructConnect representatives will conduct a thorough presentation of the Specpoint solution for building product manufacturers to understand Specpoint’s functionality and how it will benefit your organization.
AIA MasterSpec is the foundation of product content powering Specpoint and is the most widely used and trusted master guide specification tool serving the architectural and engineering industry.
Although we cannot gauge exactly how much more usage there is of MasterSpec compared to the competition, here are some facts:
Specpoint is an all-in-one cloud-based, collaborative system which both building product manufacturers and architects/engineers use to have the most up-to-date building product information for research and selection to building projects.
The single system allows for a seamless collaborative environment removing silos of information and systems that have previously existed for building product manufacturers and architects/engineers.
BPMs can efficiently maintain and manage product information and architects/engineers will have access to current product information using intelligent spec authoring tools, including the “one-click” specification, to streamline specification writing and reduce errors for better project delivery.
Specpoint benefits include:
Specpoint offers a variety of reports to provide you valuable product insight.
Specpoint reports include:
All division 00 and 01 will be manually edited by architect/engineer specification writers.
The core content of the MasterSpec will be used to generate the Basis of Design output which will include the product type specified on the premium product card.
Specifying equals will be done by the end user of the downloaded specification document.
The name of architecture/engineering firms specifying project in Specpoint will not be published but the end results of their product selection process will be available in the Specpoint heat map and the accompanying product usage reports and analytics.
No, BPMs will not be provided architecture/engineering firm names or addresses.
There are no automated notifications sent while products are being selected. The Specpoint heat map will be updated daily to allow comparisons over time.
Product manufacturers who have existing Basic, Enhanced, Product MasterSpec or Independent listing agreements with ConstructConnect; will automatically have their existing listed products migrated to the Specpoint product database.
Manufacturers will be provisioned with access to Specpoint where they can edit and maintain their product listings to keep the information up to date.
Existing listings will be reassigned to new naming conventions/titles in Specpoint as follows:
Existing BPM customers that want to update their existing product listings will contact ConstructConnect to request an update to their listings. ConstructConnect will coordinate with the Deltek Fulfillment team to enable the listings to a state of Premium MasterSpec Review which will allow the customer to add information to their listings and submit that information for review by the Deltek Fulfillment team.
Your organization’s designated primary contact will receive an email that contains your Specpoint login credentials. If you have any questions about your Specpoint login, contact your ConstructConnect for assistance.
Existing BPMs will sign a new license agreement after their current contract term expires. Upon your initial log in to Specpoint, all BPMs will need to accept the SaaS Terms and Conditions.
Specpoint offers two levels of annual product listing subscription options:
With the purchase of a Specpoint Premium Product Listing, BPMs will automatically receive access to Specpoint for five users. Additional user access can be purchased at $19 a month per user ($228/user/year) billed annually.
